Grapple Grip Unblocked — Play Free Online

Swing and Rope Games

Grapple Grip unblocked: play Grapple Grip online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.

Grapple Grip is a solo-made puzzle platformer: fire a hook straight up to grab grips and dodge spikes, free in your browser.

Grapple Grip trades Swing Monkey's rope-and-momentum swinging for something tighter and more puzzle-shaped. Instead of building speed across an open level, you're dropped into a small vertical room full of spikes, and the only way out is up: fire a grapple hook overhead, get hauled to whatever grip it catches, then decide whether to keep climbing or let go and try a different line. It's a solo-developer game, built by Robert Alvarez, and it plays like one: short, deliberately mean little rooms instead of a sprawling level, closer in spirit to a physics puzzle than a swinging runner.

A room is usually solved in under a minute once you see the trick, but seeing the trick is the whole point. The exit door is visible from the moment you spawn; getting to it means threading a spike field with the grapple as your only tool, and each room is small enough that every failed attempt teaches you something specific to use on the next try.

How to play

Movement is A/D or the left and right arrow keys. There's no separate jump button — pressing W, the up arrow, or space fires the grapple straight up, and if there's a grip point above you it catches, hauling you upward in one quick pull. While you're attached, tapping a direction key lets go of the current grip and drops you back into free movement, which is how you switch from climbing straight up to swinging sideways onto a ledge the hook alone can't reach. Touching a spike restarts the room instantly; R does the same on demand, and Esc backs out to the menu. Your level is saved as you clear it, so closing the tab and coming back later picks up where you stopped.

Tips

  • Fire the grapple in short pulls rather than holding the key down through a whole climb — release and refire gives you more control than riding one long pull.
  • Letting go mid-pull is the actual skill here: most rooms are built around detaching near the top of a grapple rather than riding the hook all the way up.
  • The grapple only fires straight up, so your horizontal position matters more than your timing — line yourself up before you press the key, not while you're already moving.

Stickman Hook uses the same fire-and-release idea but stretches it into a full swinging momentum game, chaining hook shots across a level instead of solving one small room at a time. Noob Hook is close to the same swing, wrapped in Minecraft-styled blocks and skins. For something with no grapple at all, Drift Boss swaps the hook for one-tap steering down a shrinking road — a good change of pace if Grapple Grip's precision starts to feel like a wall.

On a keyboard the timing is exact, which is where this one is best played, but the build also drops in on-screen touch buttons for the same moves, so it still works on a phone or tablet when a keyboard isn't around.

Questions about Grapple Grip

Is Grapple Grip unblocked at school?

Grapple Grip runs in an ordinary browser tab from swingmonkey.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

How do you control Grapple Grip?

A or the left arrow moves left, D or the right arrow moves right, and W, the up arrow, or space fires the grapple straight up to grab the nearest grip point above you.

How do I let go of the grapple?

Press a direction key while attached and you'll release the current grip, dropping you back into free movement so you can swing sideways or reposition.

Does Grapple Grip save my progress?

Yes. The level you're on is saved in your browser, so closing the tab and coming back later picks up where you left off.

Can I play Grapple Grip on a phone?

Yes, it has on-screen touch buttons for movement and the grapple, though a keyboard is more precise for tight spike timing.

Who made Grapple Grip?

It's a solo project by developer Robert Alvarez.
